....there were times I forgot [Finding Dad] was a book.... I feel like I've been to Balona and met those people....

Joe Kuhl's high school graduation ceremony was enough to curl the hair on a bald principal!

...Finding Dad was my first Balona Book. Thank you, Jonathan Pearce, for bringing my youth back to life. I look forward to reading your other novels about Joe Kuhl and his family and friends....

"This book might be categorized as 'Young Adult,' and I'm sure teenagers will enjoy it, but if you're a grownup, don't let that label put you off. Finding Dad is funny, serious when it needs to be, moral without being preachy, and it gave me a look at ordinary people without being the least bit condescending
--Pam Gearhart, Book-Readers@Yahoogoups.com
Finding Dad is more prickly than it is purely warm and fuzzy...it provides a lot of laughs and a generous number of sniffles for the compassionate treatment of the characters and their predicaments. The book is the perfect antidote for readers who have wandered too long in the wasteland of post-modern fiction noir.

One of the things I love most about Jonathan Pearce's books is that to enjoy them you must throttle back to a slower, very relaxed pace (or else miss much of the fun). Just a warning, though: this does not mean that you won't miss sleep. You may stay up most of the night reading them, like me!
