Readers Occasionally Ask, "Why Did You Write
The Burberry Style"?

Why, indeed! Well, there I was, looking at newspaper accounts of a serial murderer. This guy had no style whatsoever. He simply slashed his victims sloppily and then went on to slash someone else. Surely a serial killer could do the job with more, well, something.

It occurred to me while eating a korndog (necessarily slathered with Balona Secret Korndog Sauce), that Balona needed a serial killer. But this killer had to have style. As Joseph Oliver Kuhl plans one day to become a member of Britain's elite secret service, MI-6, it seemed logical that the murderer might also be a member of MI-6, or at least a wannabee. And so it happened.

As for the puzzle boxes. Well, one who collects heads needs places to store them. The korndog factory and its convenient chopper hopper needed to be involved as a story element. Perhaps I am giving away too much of the story, so I'll stop here with plot details. Suffice it to say that Mr. Burberry (or "Commander Burberry") is indeed stylish and still much admired in pedestrian Balona.

I wrote the book because the population of Balona needed Mr. Burberry! Some insensitive critics have referred to Mr. Burberry as a weird guy. The idea!
