Well, here it is almost Turkey Time, and I am already drooling, even though Pastor Nim Chaud is always moaning about how you should spare the turkey and try tofu. You ever eat a tofu turkey? Blechhh. I hope you have by now read Community Spirits, the scary ghost book which is pretty good even though I come off as unsympathetic since it was dictated by an ex-boyfriend who is a true sexist. This sexist-type boy supposedly wrote a book which got a great notice from School Library Journal, even though the book was in fact written by that fine, handsome guy Joaquin Peralta. The book is An Almost Private Eye.
Another one (a book, that is) where I am not even mentioned, is Nobody's Fault, which is a story about Mr. Junior Kuhl's adventures in a terrible earthquake, which is told to my little friend Tery Ordway, a real bright kid where I am sort of her mentor (more or less). Of course, old Mr. Junior Kuhl is no longer with us, but he was a real funny story teller. Just ask Tery. Mr. Peralta has written another fine one that will not be on the market until January (but you could make note of it). It's Bandits!, and it tells the exciting story of Junior Kuhl's great-grandfather as a runaway kid who gets captured by murderers during the California Gold Rush. Fabulous!
