This November 2006 Blog is the Brainchild of

Balona Courier
flower column for funny teen blog

Newest News: Pastor Nimitz MacArthur Chaud is not going to have a tofu turkey this year, he says. He is going to have a tofu ham, which I wouldn't want leftovers from. We are all fixing our faces for Thanksgiving pumpkin pie with whipcream, et cetera. Balonans are no longer suffering The Pales (since Ms. Verga Bless has moved on to Escalon, CA,) but the bank accounts of local poets are still in disorder. Like mine, which was never in much order in the first place. We are in a dither about the new book that will come out in January and which I got to read the galleys of. It's Serving Humanity, and it's about Mr. Burberry who is a surprise all by himself.

Anyway: Mr. Don Keyshot is also justibly famous around here for his new book which is titled, A Perched-in Soul, and mentions yours truly in the book several times, more than just hinting to readers about how I'm a pretty good journalist, etc. He reveals secrets about his ex-married wife who is now living in Fresno, and also sort of pokes a little fun at my fellow journalist, Bellona Shaw, which is okay by me.

Readers are writing more emails to BalonaBooks every day and telling us that Tery Ordway's famous book Nobody's Fault is really super-great reading. A bunch of reviewers have clapped for it and said how you ought to read it. There was one sourball critic who probably didn't read it and said it was no good at all except it does have a good cover (which is the one thing true about what she wrote). Takes all kinds. (That's a Balona Saying.) You could email me and tell me, especially about a book I'm a star in: Community Spirits, a ghost story you can read any time of the year. And, of course, don't forget Verga's Blessing, where I'm the star.

I do want to repeat that our local martial arts star, editor Jon Riis's MySpace.com blog is getting more subscribers every day. You can read it over there at Jon's Blog I hope you will e-mail me and tell me if you like my own blog.     Patella's E-Mail
